Bespoke Forged Handrails by Fire & Iron
We design, make and install high-quality handrails and grab rails for any type of steps or slopes, interior or exterior. Everything commissioned from us is designed from scratch by Tom or Lucy to meet your requirements. We will guide you - we can show you plenty of examples of our work (small selection available in the image gallery below), or suggest unique options and ideas if you want something to be a feature, or a little more unusual.
All prices quoted include the design, making, rustproofing/painting/finishing, shot blasting (required for all exterior items requiring rustproofing), all required site visits, paint & materials, stainless steel fixings, delivery and installation by us.

Exterior Handrails - Prices tend to range from approximately £950 to several thousands of pounds, depending on size, style, material, design and complexity. All of our exterior handrails are fully rustproofed, either by hot dip galvanising or hot zinc metallization, prior to professionally painting in the desired colour (unless left as a galvanised finish). This ensures your ironwork is virtually maintenance-free for decades to come! The handrails for the entrance steps to Fire & Iron were made in this way by us in 1982 and have never received any maintenance.
Interior Handrails - Prices tend to range from approximately £600 to several thousands of pounds, depending on size, style, material, design and complexity. We can offer a wide range of finishes with our interior handrails, from bare metal, simply protected with Renaissance Wax, to our popular dark graphite interior custom finish and a variety of painted colours, heat treated effects, textures and patinas.
Grab Rails - Prices tend to start from £150 for interior and around £350 for a rustproofed and painted exterior grab rail. As above, our grab rails are designed by Lucy or Tom to suit our clients requirements of practicality and design, and hand forged to order.
